The Deadline for entry in Shutter Shots 2017 is Noon, Wednesday, September 27, 2017!
10AM – Opening of the Sunflower Visual Arts Festival 2017 and unveiling of the 2017 Inductees into the Kansas Movie Hall of Fame & the Kansas Thespian Hall of Fame, Lucas Area Community Theater, 116 South Main Street. Closes at 3PM.
10:30AM – Shutter Shots 2017 Photo Exhibit and Contest opens, First Baptist Church, 111 North Main Street (NE corner of First and Main Streets) and in Golden Age Center, 210 South Main Street. Closes at 2:30PM.
11:00AM – Lucas Rural Fire Department Benefit Barbecue, Lucas Volunteer Rural Fire Department, Lucas Area Community Theater. Featuring Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, & Brats. All proceeds go to the Lucas Rural Volunteer Fire Department and the Sunflower Visual Arts Festival.
12:30PM to 2:30PM – Basic Photography Workshop with area photographer Ian Shaw, Lucas Civic Center, SW corner of Second & Main Streets.
2:30PM – Close of Shutter Shots 2017 and Hall of Fame exhibits.
3PM – Presentation on the film Home On the Range, featuring director Ken Spurgeon of Lone Chimney Films. Followed by screening of the 2017 movie Home On the Range, Lucas Area Community Theater, 116 South Main Street.
15 minutes after conclusion of movie Home On the Range – Presentation of Awards, Lucas Area Community Theater, 116 South Main Street. Dispersal and pickup of photographs will commence 10 minutes after the Presentation of Awards.
